Thormahlen Harps Badge

This project first came to me as a logo design (in Corvallis), with the intention of also being a brass badge. And, it’s structural, as it’s opposite the tensioned string side of the harp. A sheet of logos were tiled together to make a film positive (in Portland). This was used to expose a photo-resist emulsion on panels of brass (from Seattle). Then acid etched to a depth and darkly colored (in Tacoma). Sent to a cnc laser where they were cut out and screw holes pierced, before being counter-sunk (in Eugene). These have been attached to hundreds of world class harps and shipped all over the country.
